• Erika's scar is healing well, but still very visible.
• Erika walked over a mile to a nearby restaurant to get fried fish and chips, fried softshell crab sandwich and corn on the cob. Ran around on the docks, looking at fishing boats and sea gulls. Walked to the beach and played with the sand.
• She's been finishing all the food in her dinner plate.
• Turtle tried to steal her ice tea, so she decided to share it with him. When I asked her "does he like your ice tea?" she turned to me and said "Mommy, I just pretend give him ice tea, he no really drink."

• Erika finally received her shield from an enthusiastic student of mine who had fashioned a dragon-battling sword and shield out of cardboard, duct tape, and aluminum foil. She excitedly ran out to battle them with much courage. She didn't find any in the woods.
• Brian and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary.
• Erika spent Friday at the beach with her Daddy (I joined in the evening) and her friend Lulu (19 months old). Erika didn't like the waves but she liked the sand.
• Saturday was Erika's grandmother's birthday. So she watered the flowers and ate steak and corn on the cob and poked her fingers into the icing when she thought nobody was looking.
• Happy Father's Day. Erika and Kade both threw up on the carpet by 10:30 a.m. from eating breakfast and then running around like lunatics. Went to the horse races later.

I just LOVE some of the things she says! She's such an awesome little girl :D

Actually, closer! Our condo property has a private 200-foot beachfront on the river. Our one mile walk was parallel to the waterfront. However, a few steps farther and we'd be on the Atlantic Ocean.

Sometimes I think we take all its beauty for granted.
