Celebrated our 5th wedding on Friday, June 12th. Brian says that the traditional gift is "wood" but he figured I would probably be pissed if he came home with some knick-knack that would gather dust and aggravate my allergies. I agreed wholeheartedly.
We went to Red, a hip restaurant in Red Bank (a very artsty, hipster, boutique-style town). They are a Japanese sushi/Western steakhouse fusion, which was an interesting combination. I had spicy tuna tempura and Brian fried oysters (on a bed of corn chowder with bacon!) for our appetizers, and then he had a flat-iron steak and me, the classic filet mignon. MEAT. Nom nom nom. We were so full we couldn't even look at the dessert menu; so we ate homemade strawberry kiwi icecream when we got home. (Yes, I made the strawberry kiwi icecream... I'm that awesome).
My mom called from Taiwan. She's so funny on the phone. I miss her.
