1. What did you do in 2003 that you'd never done before? Got engaged.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
My resolution (posted Jan 1, 2003) was, I quote: "to figure out what the hell I am going to do with the rest of my life." I got engaged and bought a house. I think I'm getting there.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nope.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Nope.

5. What countries did you visit?
China, US Virgin Islands

6. What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003?
I was blessed with a lot of things in 2003, so I can't ask for more love, more happiness or more friends. As a result, I'll have to be shallow and ask for more money... but I really had a good 2003.

7. What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
February 21, 2003. B proposed in Times Square.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Bought a beautiful house at a good price in an unbelievably short time (even impressed the lawyer and real estate agent!).

9. What was your biggest failure?
Financial budgeting.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
No.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
My house.

12. Where did most of your money go?
50% went to rent, 20% went to bills (utilities, phone, cable, internet), 20% went to food, and 10% for entertainment.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Getting married.

16. What song will always remind you of 2003?
Beautiful by Christina Aguilera.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you: happier or sadder?
Happier. Much.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Kept in touch with friends. (Sorry, all).

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Working long hours.

20. Did you fall in love in 2003?
I was in love.

None.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
CSI

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Hate's a strong word, but I definitely dislike some people this year.

Harry Potter 5: Order of the Phoenix.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
N/A

28. What did you want and get?
An engagement ring.

29. What did you want and not get?
To visit my parents in China.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Finding Nemo.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Went to NYC to see my sister. Ate dinner at at a Thai-Vietnamese restaurant, watched a Broadway show. I turned 23.

32.What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
If there were 30 hours in a day instead of 24.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2003?
Gray sweatshirts, blue jeans and sneakers.

34. What kept you sane?
My pets: (shoutout to) Kaiser, Psi, Zeus, Ratso, Tyler, Rufus and Patches.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Reese Witherspoon has it going on.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
The war in Iraq.

37. Who did you miss?
YiYi. Leave North Carolina and come home!

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Very pathetic, but I didn't meet anyone new.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2003?
Worrying about tomorrow is pointless. Live the day. Life will provide.
