Amelia still sick

It's been 10 days since I posted about Amelia getting sick again, with the coxsackie virus and ear infection, and guess what, she's still miserably sick. Deep chesty coughs, shaking her entire body, coughing to the point that she throws up, coughing until she is gasping for air, coughing until she is so tired of coughing that she starts to cry, coughing throughout the night, leading to lots of sleepness nights for her (and her parents).

Took her back to the pediatrician on Wednesday, June 3, because when I dropped her off at the daycare in the morning, I noticed she was coughing a lot. And when I picked her up after school, she was still coughing. She was coughing at least once every 45 seconds!! She could barely catch her breath at this point, so I told them I needed the next available appointment today, and I wasn't taking no for an answer. They asked if I could be there in 15 minutes (the only appropriate answer is "of course"), and when they checked her ears, thank God the amoxicillin from May 24 worked so her ears were clear, but there is a chesty wetness in her left lung... sign of fluids in her little airways. So now it's a week of albuterol (nebulizer) up to four times a day for seven days, and hope it clears up.

I think at this point, she's been sick for 30 days straight. I am extremely extremely sleep deprived.
