Two of my students in my Marine Biology class, Christy Vawter and Will Davis, have been selected as one of six finalists in a Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution competition. (I was offering the class Extra Credit for submitting a video. Who knew it would go this far?) You can see the details of the competition here: http://www.whoi.edu/GetOnBoard/#howtowin
As a finalist, they have already won some nice prizes, but they are hoping to win the Grand Prize: An all-inclusive trip to WHOI to attend the R/V Neil Armstrong arrival celebration this spring. This will give them the opportunity get a special behind-the-scenes tour, meet leading marine scientists, and I think really spark a real love for pursuing this as a career.
