May Photo A Day 2014 - Day 14, 15, and 16
May. 16th, 2014 09:42 pmOh boy, it's getting hard to keep up with taking these photos. And I'm on maternity leave, you'd think I'd find the time, but no, there are diapers to change, and a toddler to entertain, and dinner to cook, and a house to clean... Ahhh!
Day 14- Lines
This was a teacher appreciation gift I received from a student for coaching him. It's a handmade woven basket from a really cool retail store in our area, called Ten Thousand Villages (http://www.tenthousandvillages.com/). They have original artisan products from disadvantaged communities and I've found some really cool things there, anything from jewelry to clothing to rugs to artwork. It's truly amazing!
Day 15 - From Where I Walk
We were supposed to take a picture of where went today, but I forgot. :P
So I took this photo today, a day late, of our backyard. Today I sat outside in our backyard with Amelia and we repotted some annuals that we had purchased over the weekend. Amelia looked at the stormy clouds and listened to the chirping birds, while I got my fingernails caked with dirt. The rain started in the late afternoon and we had to go back indoors.
When we were house hunting and Erika saw this backyard with the playground set, she said "this is the house!" I smiled and said "what if they take the playground with them?" and that gave her some pause, but she said we should buy the house even if they did take the playground. Lucky for her, they did not.
Day 16 - Create
Something I created today: a French Vanilla two-layer cake with Milo-flavored icing and covered with dark chocolate shavings. If you're from Asia, you know how delicious Milo is! If not, you're missing out, hahaha! Milo is a chocolate malt-flavored brand that is very common in Malaysia. In fact, instead of saying "chocolate milk" for kids, you just say "Milo".
