Erika-isms at 3 years 2 months old
Jun. 25th, 2013 10:24 pmErika parrots back a lot of the things I say to her, and some of them are real cringe-worthy and reminds me that every morning when I wake up, I need to strive to be the person my daughter believes me to be.
She says things like: "Don't talk with your mouth full!"
And: "Mommy! Are you LISTENING to me? Hello?!"
And: "WHAT did I just SAY?!?"
Whoops.
But yesterday I was wearing a chic outfit--- a plain black t-shirt with a flared above-knee cotton black skirt with white polka dots, and a peep-toe black pump with matching white polka dots along the edge, showing off a bold hot pink nail-polish on my toes. I got so many compliments on my outfit and Erika's daycare teacher said "you look beautiful today!"
When we got into the car, Erika said to me: "Mommy? You know you are beautiful no matter what clothes you wear, no matter what nail polish you have on, no matter what jewelry you choose, no matter how long your hair. You are beautiful, just like I am beautiful, because you are a beautiful person on the inside and I love you!!"
