Irrational hypochondria or TSS?!
Mar. 9th, 2012 06:01 pmSo I caught a 101.5 fever on Wednesday night, with sharp debilitating joint pain, shivers, and the chills. The fever lasted approximately 6 hours, until it abated to a 100 with Advil and Tylenol and Nyquil. And then when I woke in the morning at 5AM, it was back to a normal 99.
On Thursday and Friday, I've been having a constant dull headache, which increases to a sharp stab of pain and occasional loss of vision (fade to black) when I stand suddenly or move too quickly. I've been taking Advil and Aspirin, but it doesn't seem to help, or if it does, it doesn't seem to help much.
In general, for the past three days I've been feeling fatigued and "weak" (i.e. seeming lethargy, exhaustion, and not feeling like my usual strength).
( Okay, TMI post below...involves tampons... )
I hate it when you're too sick to have a good day and chase after a toddler, but not sick enough to use a Sick Day to stay home over. Remember, teachers pay into State Disability but we do not get any state disability insurance! (Yes, that's the truth in NJ!) As a result, if I go out on short-term disability for any reason... it is 100% NOT COVERED by the state. (Did you ever wonder why we keep trying to save our Sick Days?) And if Erika is sick-- that's sick days I have to take for her too since she cannot go to Daycare with a runny nose, diarrhea, or any fever.
