thanksgiving
Nov. 28th, 2004 12:32 pmThanksgiving went well. On the menu: roasted turkey, sausage and cheese stuffing, green bean casserole, stuffed mushrooms, sweet potatoes, roasted potatoes, and corn. We agreed to split the holidays, and I think it has worked out well--
Thanksgiving was held at my mother-in-law's. Christmas will be held at our house (mother-in-law and brother-in-law coming to our place). And then Chinese New Year's will be at my parent's. We've got the holidays evenly divided. I love it.
First day of Advent. It was raining as I ran to Church (and I didn't have an umbrella), and as I passed an old lady, she said "oh, do be careful!" and I laughed and said to her: "Oh, I'm not hurrying to get out of the rain-- I just can't wait to get to Church!!"
Our Christmas tree is up. We need more ornaments. We actually went to a tree farm, hunted our tree down, and chopped him.
Have you seen the previews to Christmas with the Kranks? There is one shot where they pan out and they have an aerial view of the entire neighborhood, lit up with Christmas lights? Well, that's what my neighborhood looks like already. If Halloween was any indication, I gave out 9 lbs of candy and actually *ran out*-- so I think this is a very festive town.
