flowers

The first time Brian gave me flowers was 2 weeks after our first date-- a dozen white roses with baby's breath and a bottle of wine, to celebrate my 21st birthday.

Yesterday, more than five years later, marked the second time. A half dozen red roses to say he was sorry.

Yeah, boys suck sometimes.

All forgiven though.

I'm getting flowers today too, but fortunately not to say sorry this time, I figure an anniversary is good reason for that.

I'm not great about flowers either, but I try to remember sometimes.

I'm not a big flower girl, honestly, I'd rather see them in my garden than dying in a vase. I see it in the same vein as zoos that cage their animals instead of providing a safari-like sanctuary for their wildlife. I understand the purpose of aquariums and zoos, which in today's world functions largely by saving injured or "tamed" wildlife that cannot be returned to the wild, but certainly rally against the old-school philosopy of capturing wildlife to be displayed for the public.

I don't mind receiving flowers, I certainly don't ask for or expect them, and I can't think of lots of other things I'd rather get than flowers (fine dining, jewelry, movies or a book!), but yesterday, it was a nice surprise.

I agree with you about the flowers, also I get waaay more points for chocolate. I even put in my wedding vows to get chocolate whenever she wants, which fortunately has not been abused ;)

I hope it wasn't anything REALLY awful.

:(

only 6 flowers worth. So either it's not awful, or he's sleeping on the front lawn tonight.

My husband gave me flowers today too. It was to "make me have a real smile" after he screwed up a lot and I found out about it yesterday. I told him it doesn't solve anything, and he said he just wanted to see me have a real smile for a second.....but he knew it didn't solve anything. The card said "Thank you for showing me God's true love." Eh...I love getting flowers, but wasn't really into it this time because I figured he was trying to make me say everything was o.k....we'll see.

I don't like flowers, they wilt and die :/

It was sweet though. I pressed it when it died.. and never to find them again :/

I think they grew legs and walked away.

how sweet and wasteful at the same time.
all forgiven is the best thing to hear.

i don't think i ever got flowers and if i ever did, i would surely suspect something.

It's not the flowers, it's the idea of them sucking up to you.
