freak-out

Okay. I'm officially freaked out, and it's probably nothing and I'll laugh about this in five minutes, but I just got home from work half an hour early. The front door was wide open (screen door was shut, but our actual front door was wide open!), I ran in and shouted "Brian?" No reply.

I looked in the garage and his car is not there. Called his cell phone, only to hear it ringing and realize that he had left the house without it. I had called at noon to tell him to put my pot of soup I'm making for dinner on the stove to stew, and I found the pot of soup cooking on the stove. He left the house without turning the stove off?

And now I can't find one of our cats, Tyler. I looked in the garage and the cat carrier is there, but I'm running around the house and there's no Tyler. I'm thinking something serious has happened to Tyler (ran over by a car? poisoned? choking?? --he's been coughing occassionally and throwing up his food last two days but I thought it was hairballs--) Where the hell is Tyler? Why the hell was the front door wide open? And where the hell is Brian, leaving the house in such a hurry that he left his phone and the stove on?

Argh. Argh .ARgh.

He was missing for a total of 1 hour and 15 minutes from the time I got home (Lord knows how long before he had left!)

Hopefully it's nothing more series than Tyler somehow ran out of the building and Brian chasing after him.
