Neighbors who BBQ

So we live in a 3-story condominium, where we're at the top, an older (in their 50's) Russian couple lives in the middle, and a young newlywed couple lives on the bottom floor.

The newlywed couple at the bottom-- they BBQ almost EVERY DAY in the summer. We poke our heads over our balcony and spy on what they're cooking. Other times, we'll sit in our living room and try and guess what they're grilling. "It's mushrooms today!" Brian will exclaim, and I'll add: "With pork chops! I think I smell pork chops!"

We both think it's appropo and funny that the guy is a firefighter (that pyromaniac). Anyhow, it's pouring rain outside (with thunder and lightning) today, and guess what? It's 6 p.m. and I smell the lighter fluid-- extra heavy hand to combat the rain, I suppose!!!

This sounds like the people who lived above us, although they were kind of assclowns. But they did enjoy their lighter fluid and extended the BBQ season to its limits.

Lmao, that's a riot. I've grilled in the rain, and it the winter, but never in a downpour or blizzard.

I have to say, I cannot stand BBQ smell all the time, more the BBQ sauce smell not the grilling. I bet you feel hungry all the time. :)

wow!

here we have a bbq pit and everytime they light it up we can smell the burning fire all the way up to the 9th floor!! I haven't barbecued in ages.. is it supposed to do that or they were too generous with their lighter fluid?? The fire comes up a good foot and half up! But you know we never smell the food actually being BBQed. I guess it's a good thing... not all like the smell of bbq-meat.

I think if you're too generous with the lighter fluid, you can small the fire and oil.

But you dont smell the food? That's weird!!
